MOD II of the TTACS Training Program highlights issues of traditional firearm use in CQB. In addition it demonstrates the concept that weapons are multiuse tools to a trained mind and can be used or fired unconventionally. The weapons and equipment are available at any time during most crises. MOD II demonstrates developed methods and tactics of using firearms (both carbine and sidearm), knives, body armor, equipment and gear carried by soldiers as weapons or tools. Again, as in hand to hand, TTACS also considers the mental and physical processes that occur during high stress situations. With these concepts and methods a TTACS trained soldier will have a superior mindset with advanced unconventional thinking and tactics.
During MOD II training, instructors critique some current firearm training techniques in practice today and discuss their fundamental weaknesses and strengths, and the science or myth behind these techniques. Instructors will also demonstrate how some traditional firearm training, is less effective for soldiers influenced by the stressors induced during SNS. Such will be demonstrated and the alternative presented that requires mere hours to adapt.
In TTACS MOD II, shooting systems based on antiquated, competition-oriented techniques are simply refined and enhanced by the the TTACS shooting course.
